Project Risks & Mitigation

⚠️ Project Risks & Mitigation

While SZNP is built on robust technology, it recognizes and prepares for the inherent risks that come with operating a decentralized AI + DePIN infrastructure. This section outlines key risk categories and the mechanisms in place to address them.

1️⃣ Technical Risks

Risks:

  • Bugs or vulnerabilities in the Super Spatiotemporal Operation Proof (SSOP) mechanism

  • Data loss or inconsistency from node failures

  • Flaws in access control or authentication layers

Mitigation:

  • Formal third-party security audits and peer reviews

  • Ongoing fuzz testing and open bug bounty programs

  • Built-in redundancy and self-healing logic for node failures

  • Cryptographic access control with multi-layer permissions

2️⃣ Network Centralization

Risks:

  • Early-stage reliance on a small number of core nodes

  • Unbalanced geographic distribution of infrastructure

Mitigation:

  • Launch of the Node Pioneer Program to incentivize diversity

  • SSOP-integrated geo-balancing metrics

  • Validator rotation mechanisms governed by the DAO

3️⃣ Token Economy Volatility

Risks:

  • Speculative short-term trading of $SZNP tokens

  • Misaligned incentives between AI contributors and hardware operators

Mitigation:

  • Vesting schedules and locked allocations for team & partners

  • Balanced incentive design across all ecosystem participants

  • Periodic review and adjustment of reward parameters via DAO

4️⃣ Regulatory & Compliance

Risks:

  • Jurisdictional uncertainty regarding token use and storage services

  • Legal restrictions on DePIN or permissionless data sharing

Mitigation:

  • $SZNP is positioned as a utility token with no investment guarantees

  • No public ICO/IDO; network growth through use, not sale

  • Legal counsel engaged across multiple jurisdictions

  • Optional compliance layers (e.g. KYC/DID modules for regulated access)

5️⃣ Governance & Community Risks

Risks:

  • Voter inactivity or concentration of power among large holders

  • Manipulation of governance by Sybil attacks

Mitigation:

  • Reputation-weighted voting and delegation system

  • Contribution-based incentive multipliers

  • Integration of identity tools (e.g. zkDID, SBTs) to reduce Sybil vectors

SZNP is built with resilience in mind — both technical and social. Risk is not a flaw in decentralization, but a challenge to engineer against. Our answer is transparency, distributed trust, and robust design.
